Croatia is a uniquely shaped country stretching from the plains of Southeastern Europe. The mountainous Croatian coastline holds over 1000 islands as part of its Mediterranean basin. The variety of stunning places in Croatia creates a diverse canvas for photographers. The mountains, national parks, red-tiled roof cities, numerous islands and sunny paradises of the south provide infinite photo opportunites of beautiful landscapes and sceneries.

This tour is composed to give maximum insight into all the beauty Croatia holds -- from the magical castles of Zagorje, lakes and waterfalls of UNESCO protected Plitvice National Park, all the way down to the ancient stone walls of Split and Dubrovnik.

Price for this tour of will be determined based on the size of your self-organized group (four minimum) and will include accommodations in hotels or traditional houses; breakfast daily, one lunch and farewell dinner; all ferry, boat & land transportation; admission fees; and the services of an English-speaking photographic guide throughout.


Explore Croatia Itinerary in Brief


Day 1

Arrivals in Zagreb will be met and transferred to the luxurious Arcotel Hotel for the first of two nights accommodations.

Day 2

An early morning departure for the beautiful Zagorje region where guests will explore the wonderful castles and landscapes.

In the afternoon tour Croatia's capital city, Zagreb, picturesque turn of the century architecture along with charming Gornji Grad, a historic area, make perfect subjects for photographing.

Day 3

An early morning departure for Plitvice National Park where you will photograph one of the most scenic parts of Croatia. Plitvice, with its 17 lakes and stunning waterfalls are one of Croatia's best known motives! In the afternoon explore lovely Opatija, a once famous retreat of Middle European nobility.

Day 4

Spend this day exploring central Istria. Appropriately named, "The Second Tuscany", Istria is a magical land of old hilltop towns, wonderful valleys and picturesque coastal towns. Photographers then travel to Rovinj and enjoy the wonderful views of the old town, narrow cobblestone streets, and charming atmosphere.

Day 5

A late morning departure for Zadar, with stops along the way to include the Paklenica National Park to enjoy the wonderful canyon and a stop in the fantastic Krupa valley along with a visit to an Orthodox monastery hidden within this tranquil setting. Upon arrival at Zadar in the early evening provides an opportunity to shoot the world famous Zadar sunset and skyline.

First of two nights at the luxurious Hotel President.

Day 6

On this day guests will visit Zadar's beautiful hinterland. Places like the island of Pag and local fisherman villages are bursting with historical heritage and picturesque landscapes. A late evening return to Zadar.

Day 7

Depart in the early morning for the picturesque town of Skradin and the Krka waterfalls. Later tour the historical Visovac monastery. After lunch in Skradin, leave for the romantic city of Sibenik to photograph Sibenik's amazing Renaissance core and an UNESCO site &endash; The Cathedral of Sibenik.

Overnight stay in luxurious Hotel Spongiola on the very scenic island of Krapanj.

Day 8

After breakfast, depart for the city of Split. This city is best known for the palace of the ancient Roman emperor Diocletian, which remains the core of the old city. This unique and most well preserved Roman palace in the World is a place where you can spend days discovering new things, from the ancient temples, emperor's mausoleum &endash; now cathedral, and vibrant spirit of the people still living in the palace. In the evening depart for the magical island of Hvar

First of two nights in the exclusive Hotel Riva.

Day 9

Following breakfast in the hotel, head out to explore the magnificent island of Hvar. During a tour of Hvar's old city, photographers will explore the islands numerous vineyards as well its exclusive beaches. Hvar is Croatia's sunniest island and home to lush lavender and rosemary fields. This exclusive island is constantly drawing in tourists from all over the world because of its natural beauty and alluring atmosphere.

Day 10

Leave in the morning for the wonderful Imotski region where photographers will have a chance to capture nature in all its glory. Photograph the River Vrljika, as well as two mysterious lakes, which paint a beautiful picture of Imotski's striking landscapes. Tour the ancient Imotski steps, dating back to the 18th century. Finally proceed to the coastal town of Makarska, located one hour south of the Imotski region.

Overnight stay in beautiful Makarska in the Hotel Biokova.

Day 11

Spend this day discovering beautiful panoramas of the Adriatic from the Makarska Riviera before a late afternoon departure for Dubrovnik to arrive in time to catch the city bathing in the evening sun.

First of two nights at the Hilton Imperial, located right outside of Dubrovnik's old city.

Day 12

In addition to exploring Dubrovnik's old city, photographers will also have the pleasure of walking the walls which surround the city to record its specatcular views. Historical palaces, monasteries, and the ancient walls, are all highly photogenic aspects of one of Europe's most enchanting cities.

The evening is highlighted by a farewell dinner in one of Dubrovnik's most exclusive restaurants.

Day 13

Morning departures. (In the case tour participants have a flight later in the day, the hotel is located conveniently close to the Old City so this extra time can be used to enjoy Dubrovnik even more!)
